about

"Marcescant," recorded partly in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Auckland, New Zealand, finds BB adding new sonic textures to his sound, bringing electric guitar, drum machines and light percussion to many of the same themes as the previous album, while touching on new ones like resurrection and the hope that comes from acceptance of the inevitable "unknown."
Written during a turbulent period that culminated in a move to New Zealand, the songs on the album chart an “epic, somber... chronicle of abduction, death, and a crumbling domestic life.”

about

PETER J. BRANT Los Angeles, California

Influenced heavily by the ghostly intonations of Melanesian and Bulgarian choirs, "BB" intertwines these vocal harmonies around familiar song structures influenced by tragic love song singers, such as Roy Orbison, Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, and Patsy Cline.
